Lockdown Treats: Scarlet's Cinnamon Scrolls

Baking is a quintessential task for keeping sane in lockdown, and our fabulous product assistant Scarlet from the Flo head office has found cinnamon scrolls do just the trick. So, pop on your favourite tunes, head up the oven and make these beauties for you and you only. I guess that's the one silver lining about having to stay in your own bubble right, you don't have to share your baking with anyone else ;)

Ingredients

Dough
1L Lukewarm Water
1tbsp Dry Yeast
1/2tsp Salt
8 cups Plain Flour
5tbsp of Oil
Filling
250g Melted Butter
2 Cups of Brown Sugar
4tsp cinnamon
Glaze
1  1/3 Cups of Icing sugar
2tbsp Milk
 
Method
Mix water, yeast, oil, salt and stand for 15 minutes for yeast to activate
Mix in flour. Cover and allow to double in size (approx. 60 min)
Roll mixture onto a floured bench. Mix filling ingredients and spread over dough. Roll up and cut in 12 slices.
Bake in muffin trays for 20 minutes at 190 degrees Celsius
Let cool for 10 minutes before mixing glaze ingredients together and drizzling on top of the scrolls

  • Hi there. I was going to make these but then when I looked back at the recipe and the method includes oil but there was no oil in the ingredients list, so I had no idea how much to add. I’m still keen to give these scrolls a go so if you could adjust the recipe that would be awesome. Thank you.
